ictQATAR announced in December 2007 that Vodafone and Qatar Foundation Consortium was successful in gaining the second mobile telecommunications license in the State of Qatar.
The license to operate a second fixed telecommunications network is expected to be awarded in the near future.
We look forward to welcoming international providers to compete in Qatar's telecoms market. We are committed to balancing the interest of consumers with those of providers as we move forward with the liberalization process.
