Web Editor
ictQATAR seeks an experienced communicator with excellent English and Arabic skills to serve as the editor of its bilingual website. The primary role of the web-editor is to lead the development of the website to provide an active, informative and vibrant portal for communication with the broad public, whilst reflecting the strategic goals and objectives of ictQATAR.
Essential Functions
- Manage, coordinate and oversee all contributions to ictQATAR website to ensure that style, messages and content are consistent and within the framework of the overall aim of the website.
- Determining the most helpful and appropriate content for the sites with input from the Communications team.
- Edit, publish and update content of the website in a fresh and timely manner with accurate information relevant to the target audiences.
- Writing original content for the site on behalf of ictQATAR.
- Working with the ictQATAR different departments to post new material.
- Building relationships with concerned audiences to get their feedback and encourage their use of the site.
- Collaborating with the Communications Office staff to ensure a high level of quality in all communications materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, communications or related field (Master's preferred).
- Demonstrable experience of writing and editing for the web
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in both languages.
- Ability to think creatively and use innovation to make the Website a useful and interactive tool.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with the public.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to produce high quality work under deadline.
- Fluent in HTML and sound knowledge of CSS
- Demonstrable experience of working with Content Management Systems
- Strong project management skills
Media Specialist
ictQATAR is seeking a Media Assistant to enhance and support the communications Office in its efforts to communicate with the local and regional media, stakeholders and the general public. This role is focused on organizing press coverage, keeping accurate and up-to-date databases of media contacts, writing press materials and highlighting opportunities to improve or expand our efforts. Excellent written communication skills are mandatory.
Essential Functions
- Develop and write press materials, including press releases, media advisories, and public announcements.
- Identify newsworthy stories for earned media
- Liaise with local and international media outlets and journalists
- Collect and organize press clips
- Prepare daily press briefs
- Set up press conferences and briefings
- Respond to initial media inquiries
- Other tasks as required by the department
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Strong computer skills
- Exceptional online research skills
- Experience in communications in campaign environment
- Demonstrated ability to produce results in a fast paced environment and on tight deadlines

- Previous experience working with the press (desirable)
