A veteran ICT executive in both the private and public sector, Chan Meng Khoong is the Government CIO and GIMO's Executive Director. Khoong's 20-year career spans the ICT field, from technology R&D to project leadership, where he has been deeply involved in public sector transformation and computerization. He has been advisor and consultant to more than 70 organizations and has managed and delivered more than 100 projects ranging from management consulting to IT outsourcing.
As the Government CIO, Khoong is working with the team at GIMO and government agencies across Qatar to create a state-of-the-art government that is responsive to the needs of those who live and work in Qatar.
Before joining ictQATAR, Khoong worked as the Director of Consulting and Sales at EDS Corporation and as Managing Principal at Atos Origin Asia Pacific. Prior to those positions, Khoong was the Managing Director of Singapore Computer Systems' Business Consulting Practice and Head of Singapore's Center for Strategic Process Innovation at the National Computer Board. He has also served on the editorial boards of a range of business and technology journals, published books and journal articles and delivered keynote speeches at conferences around the world.
Khoong has a Master of Science (Computer Science) from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from Columbia University, in the United States.
